![]() Witów, a village at the Tatra foothills, stretches along the road from Chochołów to Kościelisko, which is also the road which joins Kraków via Rabka and Czarny Dunajec with the western parts of Zakopane. The village is a perfect place to spend free time, as there are fewer visitors here, compared with the other places in that region. Nearby begin tourist footpaths leading into the West and High Tatras, and the famously beautiful Tatra valleys invite for a stroll. While staying in Witów, visitors may take part in local festivities and folklore events, such as the Corpus Christi procession and the great local Forest Festival, when the local people wear traditional highlander costumes, and folklore groups dance and sing. It is also an opportunity to taste local food. In summer, which is the time for pasture, several shepherd's huts offer dairy products made of sheep's milk, as well as honey from forest apiaries. |
